It was a cold day at Granite Gorge yesterday. The good thing about the temperatures is that it kept it very uncrowded. There were a couple of times throughout the day where about 10 people were skiing which was great! Paradise, Deer Run East, Chute, Lower Main Street, Gilder, & Bunny Buster were open when the lifts started at 10:00. Around noon Monadnock & Chips opened up with ongoing snowmaking on the trails. Lower Main Street & Chute closed during the later half of the day so the mountain could prepare for the snowmobile hill climb taking place in the evening. Some trails such as Upper Main Street, Evan’s Glades, Headwall, Jumper, & Zig-Zag weren’t officially open or closed. They had very thin cover and after skiing them once I stayed off them for the rest of the day. It was clear, but it got windier and colder as the day progressed. It was a very nice day of skiing on a very uncrowded mountain.
