I know that during the winter, ski areas get dinged with minor deficiencies on lifts that need to be fixed before re-licensing for the following season - and that’s probably what’s going on here. However, to someone who doesn’t know that, it sounds bad!

It happens all the time. The state says it’s not a safety issue but needs to be addressed before it becomes one. They don’t want to shut you down but want to see a plan to address the issue(s).
