Some homes throughout Wilmington, Dover, and Wardsboro (our own homes included) are without power, internet, and cable. We are reaching out to everyone to prepare you that your home may possibly not have power, internet, or cable, if you arrive this weekend. We are checking with the electric company but unfortunately, they are not able to pin point what properties have power as there are so many wires down. There is an outage map on their website: https://outages.greenmountainpower.com/ however, we cannot guarantee it’s accuracy. Please use caution when driving, as there are numerous trees and limbs down over roads. Local crews have been clearing and doing the best they can, but they are completely swamped." </blockquote>

FWIW - 4 of my friends who live in Wardsboro. the “hills of Dover” and on over towards Newfane, just in the last hour or so posted pictures on their FB pages of the lights being back on in their home’s for the 1st time since the power went out on Monday. Green Mountain Power has been making significant progress today in the area apparently as yesterday most of these same friends were posting screen shots of estimated time of restoration of service of 12/1 midday….

I figure that it’s going to take a bit of extra shoveling effort when I arrive tomorrow afternoon to my condo to dig my grill out on my back deck before I can grill some steaks for dinner! Not a bad “problem” at all for late November! B)
