The proper name of the ski area is just a name, but a popular pronunciation of it indeed contains a verb.

Woburn HS sports teams known as the Tanners, for the leather industry that once ruled the town

Here’s one:

This area is abandoned, but the main slope is kept clear and can be used for backcountry skiing or sledding.
This area could be accessed from either the summit or base.
This area was probably an area that was relocated from a nearby town when a highway was built.
