I don’t think so. It’s not that difficult, although I’ve said that before and been surprised. Let me rephrase the clues:It’s close enough to Mt. Abrams that I could “quit early” and get “down” there before the lifts closed.I regret not buying a ticket and skiing there when I had the chance.It was many years ago.

These clues definitely don’t define one unique area, they could be applied to many Southern Maine areas. I’ll say Bauneg Beg.

Ski_it does it again, Evergreen Valley. It may have been the first year they were open - A fully developed ski area with three chairlifts running right from the start. I seem to recall there were plenty of people there. But their finances were far from in order.

I never even heard of Evergreen Valley so I think JD should take my turn. I never could have come up with the answer without my trusty triple secret NELSAP decoder ring. Edit 10/26: Well clearly that ploy didn’t work. Perhaps it is time for this thread to rest.

3. It may be nameless but it operated under several names…

To Rick’s good guess, one of the other names under which Noname operated was Big Bear, so his Musket Mt. guess was far better than he expected!

The ski area is the Wilderness; the Balsams is the hotel.  Is this suggesting that the area is a hotel with a Ski Area, like perhaps, Gray Rocks?

Joshua was too non-committal; Ski_it wins! The 100-year-old hotel at Gray Rocks was demolished; the golf courses still operate. According to Wikipedia the hill the ski slopes are on is called Sugarloaf.My Part Deux-style clue was going to be Geologically Neutral.

ski_it: Let’s call it a tie!  I was trying to think of a hotel with significant ski area amenities that went out of business and the only one that came to mind was Gray Rocks.

Last time I posted 3-clues, you were technically the one supposed to do so - so if you’ve got one ready, post it!

I just meant that gray is a neutral color. Makes as much sense as most of the Part Deux clues.
