Now that it has been successfully identified as Powder Ridge, what were the circumstances associated with downgrading of the lift capacity?

The 747 lift was downgraded from a quad to a triple in 2001. It was the first quad in New England and when it became a triple another triple was built alongside it which actually increased the overall capacity.

NELSAP Bald Mountain in Oquossuc, ME? 1) I at least am close enough to bald; 2) Overlooks Mooselookmeguntic and Cupsuptic Lakes (love saying those); 3) T-bar main lift. http://www.nelsap.org/me/baldoq.html

OK, moving right along:1) The two main lifts were widely separated at the bottom, but nearly converged2) Site of a fun Snowjournal visit (guessing too easy for any of the participants)3) Has river viewIt’s curious about Oquossuc Bald Mountain, that although NELSAP says it closed in 1973, I lived in Maine and was skiing from 1968-1973 and I never heard of it. I was familiar with Dedham Bald Mountain and was so intrigued with anything to do with skiing in those years that I can’t imagine how it escaped my attention. It wasn’t that small, although it had more like 600 vertical feet than 1200 as NELSAP reported.

Bearpen nearly fits 2 and 3, if you call Schoharie Creek a river, but there were no lifts at the bottom at all.

I don’t think this is what you had in mind, but the clues all fit Sunapee if you consider the two main lifts to be their two detachables.
