TomWhite
I recall Black Mountain being Chisholm Winter Park in those days..Mapnut and Joshua are correct. I looked at my 1973 Ski Guide to the Northeast, by Joe Lakovitch. It has both CWP at 500′ vert. now Black and Bald Mt. at 550′ right on Rangeley. The 1969 atlas doesn’t list either name.

ski_it It looks as if it was CWP from approx. 1961-1974, then became Black Mt after that. From 1923-1960 Chisholm Ski Club was in different locations. Nordic & ski jumps before WWII then perhaps a small tow later.
joshua_segal
7. Shares it’s name with another former ski area
How about Hidden Valley?
NJSki
I thought it was Hickory, NY - but I guess not

Close, but no cigar. You are on the right track.

Remember, not operating

NJSki
Alpine Meadows/ Adirondack Ski Center, NY? I can’t find any information on the trail names.

Still close, but not correct.

This area only operated Friday, Sat, Sunday, and holidays

NJSki
Schroon Lake or Marble MT?
Right state, wrong area. Over 1000 ft vertical drop
mapnut No Name Mt./Roxbury? Still no idea about the trail names, or where you could have got even this much info about a long-lost area.
ski_it
…or where you could have got even this much info about a long-lost area.
May be from one of our own? http://skikabbalah.com/lostNY/jls_adds/large_lost_area_list.htm

mapnut OK, I’ve got it now. But I’m not going to guess because I’m running out of ski areas that I know enough about to make up 3 more clues!
NJSki Bobcat it is! High on my list of should have, would have, could haves . Looks like a really cool place
joshua_segal I’ve heard people describe Hickory Hill as NY’s MRG. It’s steep!Never heard anyone compare Bobcat to MRG. Bobcat is nice, but pretty flat.
