Seriously though, Bobcat – like MRG – had a good offering of reasonably easy terrain, some nice wide trails that anybody could ski, yet with plenty of nasty if you went off the main boulevards. But neither the quantity nor sustained nasty that MRG has.
When the archives come on line, there was a trip report way way back called “Time Stands Still at Bobcat” that was really insightful
I like that bumper sticker from Hickory, and if I were Mad River Glen I’d really like it! Everybody knows deep down that nothing else is quite like MRG, and the comparison simply adds to the legend. I’d offer to help print these for a bunch of little ski areas, and let them do the publicity for me. In fact I’d give Hickory passholders 10% off a lift ticket just for keeping the flame
