2.  Ski area built in the 1950s at the location of a rope tow that operated during the 1930s.   The first and for a long time only lift at the area was a chairlift.  It was used for summer sightseeing for a year or two before it opened for skiing.

A hint: the are is very near to a junction of two regionally important highways.

- implying that it is a walk-up skiing place [FG Quad(riceps)]

2. Was lost, but not Nelsap, then found.

- With no lift, it could be New England - so I suggest, The Thunderbolt Trail which has been resurrected in recent years.

- Could be a reference to a covered bridge or a heavily bowered area at or on the way there.

Eustis lift was tiny last year. Not sure if it was NELSAP. You have to go under I-93 to find it. Less than a mile from the Ammonoosuc. 20 miles from I-93/I-89

“Hoosac School” actually: Good answer.  There are the railroad tunnels right there.

From the LostNY website:

This 150 foot vertical drop hill was located off the east campus and was served by a rope tow. Although the slope was short, the grade was steep and was enjoyed by students for several years. The back of the hill also had an area used for sleds which led to the admissions building.

Re-opened 2003.

Yes, Hoosic, after the river and tunnel ( in Mass.) of the same name. The lift is a pony tow ( a bit smaller than a horse).

Theres a J bar and its the only lift
Parking is at the top
The bottom area is usually wet and has made it difficult to open the slopes
