Well... *only* one of its kind is pretty restricting. This means no single chairs, no stabil lifts, not even incline railways. I can think of two specifically unique lifts in the northeast, though only one *officially* ran in its "unique" capacity.

All that being said, how about Cranmore and its skimobile?

All that being said, how about Cranmore and its skimobile?

That is true, Uncanoonuc Mountain's inclined railway also served skiers.

Along with Beacon - though I suppose whether you're abbreviating NorthEast or New England as "NE" could rule it out; NYLSAP after all.

Clue #1 was invalid, yes. Unc had an RR.
Unc south would work, but since the Cog is still standing, it "has" the view. Unc "had" it, though can you even see McIntyre trails from Unc?? Certainly not the view of BW from Cog
Also Cog trail 'system' was basically alongside the track, maybe both sides? Unc had several more options.

2. A carpet lift once shared a lift line with an overhead cable surface lift here.
3. The mountain is at least as well known for a structure at its summit as it is for having a ski area.

I just assumed that Cannon, by now, must have had a carpet! But I notice that Rocket21's site doesn't always include carpets as lifts (e.g., the Crotched page).

I do stick by the "Old Man" as being the premier structure, near if not at the top, of any feature at a skiing mountain in New England, even being extensively visited at the site just south of the ski area!

Not Cannon, Whiteface, or Mount Snow. As someone else stated, Cannon does not have a carpet and the Old Man of the Mountain isn't particularly close to the summit. I've never actually been there, but it does look like Whiteface has a carpet roughly following the same line as a chairlift. That is why I specified "surface lift."

2. Their magic carpets ran alongside the Bearcub Poma until a few years ago
3. There is a fire tower at the top of Gore; part of the NYS Fire Tower Challenge and notorious for having the longest ascent to the summit from its trailhead (located in North Creek - not at the ski area base). If you're a hiker, you're probably well aware of this. If not, maybe not.

Not Gore. I don't think that the fire tower is as well known as the ski area. I didn't know that it had a fire tower until you just mentioned it. And although the carpets were on the same slope as the platter, they were on the other side, and at the area I'm thinking of, they actually followed the same lift line through the woods, with the carpet being directly under the downhill side of the overhead cable surface lift. However, I will admit that it is very close to fitting.

I don't believe the old gondola building still stands at the summit, though the actual lift structure still does. I suppose you could be talking about that, or the midway station that's still standing visible off the topridge lift!

Whiteface was already guessed. It has never had a carpet following the same line as a overhead cable surface lift, as far as I'm aware. And there may be a ski area in Europe that fits these criteria, but that is usually beyond the focus area of this forum.
