Not Blue Hills, they haven't had an overhead cable lift in recent history.

Not Camden, no iconic structures at the summit and the carpet and T-Bar never coexisted near each other.

Were you thinking of Mont Bellevue? It has a cross at the top and a carpet on the liftline of an old Pomalift, per NES13's trip report from earlier this season. Not sure about its ownership though

Were you thinking of Mont Bellevue? It has a cross at the top and a carpet on the liftline of an old Pomalift, per NES13's trip report from earlier this season. Not sure about its ownership though

That's the one! Orignal also has a cross, but it isn't nearly as large or iconic as Bellevue's.

1. This ski area is government owned. (Mont Bellevue is owned and operated by the city of Sherbrooke.)
2. A carpet lift once shared a lift line with an overhead cable surface lift here. (Mount Bellevue has a carpet which runs alongside a retired high-speed pomalift. For a few years, they were both operational.)
3. The mountain is at least as well known for a structure at its summit as it is for having a ski area. (The huge cross at the summit lights up at night and is easily visible from most of the city.)

Ok, here’s my next set of clues. This might be a little bit tough…

1. This area is NELSAP although the establishment/facility it is associated with is still operating in a newer building
2. A rope tow was the only lift here
3. The mountain this area was built on is still used for backcountry skiing (and is also a popular hiking location)

2. The only lift was a rope tow.

Not the one I was going for but yes, Cardigan does fit the clues.

Another hint: this area didn't have any lifts that ran to the summit of the mountain it was located on, but if it did, then it would be the highest lift-served point in New England by some 600-odd feet.

NewEnglandSkier13;c-68394 wroteNot Cannon, Whiteface, or Mount Snow. As someone else stated, Cannon does not have a carpet and the Old Man of the Mountain isn't particularly close to the summit.

Just to nitpick, Cannon does have a short carpet behind the ski school building, but it's not on the map and not open to the general public.

Yep that's it! For the record I consider the top of Timberline at Sugarloaf to be the highest lift-served point in NE at 4,164' per Google Earth whereas the K1 Gondola tops out at 4,141'. Both mountains have terrain above their summits that one can hike to, but I don't consider that to be lift-served terrain.

I don't think the lift was on Moosilauke, I believe it was on the ridge above the Ravine Lodge. There was a trail map in the lodge
