Yep!

1) FIS, Upper and Lower, was backup DH for the '80 Olympics in LP. You can still find a gather of communication wire grown into a beech tree near the final jump where Slidebrook crosses Lower FIS.
2) old lift line cut is pretty much grown in to peak between Inverness and MRG. Started next to birch area of Brambles.
3) 10+ years ago?: Porsche promo event held on the golf course the year before was infamously put on the lower part of Mt. Ellen due to snow issues at the golf course.

I never knew FIS was cut as a backup for Lake Placid. The couple times I skied SBN, I did Upper but never Lower FIS.

While it seems like multiple ski areas could fit, Mad River Glen definitely fits all of the clues.

Here goes:

1. If you wander off the trail all the way looker's right, you can jump into a swimming pool.

2. A long time ago there were no single nor double chairlifts here. Once you could get to the summit you had access to five named trails, all of which mostly still exist in some form. Four of the trail names from that era still appear somewhere on the trail map; one does not.

That's an easy one too; it's Sunday River! Two large hotels with pools (Grand Summit & Jordan Grand) flank the ski area. Out of the five original trails, which were served by T-bars, Cascades, Sunday Punch, Lazy River, and Rocking Trail are still trails on the map. Crossbow was removed a few years ago when the new T-bar was installed.

The only areas that I know that require helmets are in NJ, but neither NJ area fits clue 1 or 3.

According to NE Ski History, lighting was installed for the 1949-50 season.
