Here goes: three clues should give you this ski area in the northeast USA; here are your clues...

1. Natty Bumpo
2. Middle name Hoyt
3. Two Fingers, one Great, another is the largest entirely in the state where this area is found.

A literary attempt
1. Last of the Mohicans Natty Bumpo was a main character. Mohicans lived around NY Capital District
2. ?
3. But 2-fingers and one great implies Lake Ontario and a couple of Finger Lakes.

So more confusing clues! Hickory Hill?

2. Near the ski area's base is a pond. A state park on this pond is now on the location of a former condensed milk factory.

1. Part of this defunct ski area's name is considered holy by many
2. One could technically ski from the summit of this area and travel by the right means to a famous street deriving its name from the same holiness as this ski area; walking a total of 5 minutes and driving 0.
3. One could also travel by the same means from this ski area to Northeast Canada's largest (by vert) lift serviced ski area; walking about 15 minutes, driving 0.

No idea about the holy aspect, but based on the largest ski area clue, I'd guess Grey Rocks near Mont Tremblant.

I think, by vertical, Mt. St. Anne is NE Canada's largest. (Ste. Anne de Beaupre) which covers the "holy clue". No idea what out-of-business area might be near that.

Yes, it does say that now.

However, the train station at the ski area has been closed for a number of years now, so you cannot get to the ski area by train anymore.

The edit meant to take place immediately after sending. Assuming my commuting train might have gone out of a service zone, unfortunately, and submitted when I re-opened the webpage half an hour later. Apologies for the confusion.

Anyway - Le Massif is largest by vertical, indeed. That’s your clue 3 done.

Mt St Anne is barking up the right tree in terms of how “holiness” is involved.

I’d say to not narrow yourself to conventional transit methods…

Hmm 🤔 there are an awful lot of saints (St, Ste) in Quebec. And lots of closed ski areas.

And if we allow less conventional methods of transportation, what about a small boat 🚤 on the St. Lawrence River? Or maybe hang-gliding off the Plains of Abraham in Quebec City? 😉
