Went to the Providence Brewing Company last nite. Fairly new place. They have some decent stuff & a number of stouts.

I also forgot an important date from my Beerfest list:

38th annual Boston.com Ski & Snowboard Expo
They have skis, snowboards and craft beer for sale.

Just discovered Paradox Brewery in N Hudson, NY. I like the Get Off My Lawn lager and the Paradox Pilsner....I am not an IPA/hoppy guy

Paradox is fantastic. Have you been to the brewery itself or tried just the beer? The brewery has a ski lodge feel to it.

Just the beer but will stop next time through. Is it one of the old motels that used to line Rt 9?

I am just starting to expand my beer tastes beyond the big brands. I won't pay a lot for the the micro's, but here are a couple that are different from the norm and tasty.

This was a really good IPA. Had it at the Scituate, MA Heritage days last weekend in the beer garden.

Yes, they moved to N. Hudson NY behind the old Frontier Town Amusement Park. It's a large complex, with a lodge type building with indoor seating/deck/restaurant, several pavilions, frequent food trucks, and more. Highly recommend if you are heading up to the High Peaks/Lake Placid as it is only a few min off the Northway.

Friend of mine is headed to Burlington, and we were talking about breweries there.

Question comes to mind: has ever a brewery or brand fallen as fast and as far as Magic Hat? Not that I was looking for it, but I saw a pack of #9 a couple weeks ago (I think at the Londonderry Village Market) and it made me wonder, as I haven't seen it anywhere else for quite a while. Parent co. FIFCO (Genny) seems to have terrible marketing.

Although #9 was kind of like a training bra for craft beer, Magic Hat's seasonal packs were cheap and reliable, with good variety. Are they still around?

Wow I used to drink a ton of Magic Hat but now that you mention it I haven't seen them on store shelves in years. Just did a quick google and looks like they are no longer produced in VT and sold the old brewery to Zero Gravity last year.

For the Alchemist fans out there, I found Heady Topper and Focal Banger at the Shaw's market near Mt. Snow a few weeks ago. Stock was good too. I guess $15 per 4/pack beer isn't flying off the shelves these days.

I traded for a Pliny the Elder from a friend returning from CA.

the beer I would love to see come back is the original Long Trail IPA, which was a much more malt-forward beer than the IPA stuff out there these days. It was modeled after the British style IPAs, which kind of fell out of favor a few years ago.
