joshua_segal;c-37421 wroteThere was a web-site (can't remember what it was called) that had what it considered to be "the real vertical" of ski areas. While Killington really has 3K+ vertical, the bottom 1300' amounts to a long runout. So, if you go by their analysis, Killington is #1.
I'm no particular fan of Kmart, but I'm with newpylong I think their analysis is incorrect.
Whoever created that site must've had issues with Killington as a child. The only vertical they accept for Kmart is the K1 gondy, while other areas they'll ski through tunnels and bunny hills to make it count. surely you can ski greater vertical uninterrupted from the top of K1 than just the K1 base.
That
website is very pretty and informative, but some of their conclusions are like feeding peanuts to a horse and claiming the outcome is peanut butter.
I'll look at the question another way...Wildcat Valley Trail requires a ticket giving them 3203 rather than the published 2112, therefore
Wildcat misrepresents their vertical by some 34% :p
