Black Mt NH
That's it! All of the other ski areas mentioned don't fit the criteria.
Your party, but not sure how Mansfield does not qualify. My guess is the definition of "anywhere close" which I know has been an issue on this board...
There are very popular hiking trails on the summit, therefore it is not trailess.
I thought you meant ski trails...

What ski area in NE had only a train type conveyance as a lift and it’s not the Cog on Mt Washington.
slatham
Cranmore had such a lift, I'm just not sure it was their only lift at the time.
Remski
Not cranmore

Dutchess co-opted the Mt Beacon railway for a year or two but it wasn't part of the ski area. There was also the Homestead Resort in VA, which had the other skimobile
Apparently Uncanoonuc NH had some sort of ski operations related to the railway

Uncanoonuc wins it.

I'll pass off to anybody who has a question in mind

There are several right answers to this one:
Most know of the South Ridge "triangular" chair at Killington.
There were at least two pomas that took a turn part way up the hill.
Can you name one (or more) of them?
Snowmaster
Burke's recently removed Poma had a bit of a bend where it butted up against the HSQ.

That's one of them. I think Jay Peak had one too. But one was good enough! Next question is yours!

There is a trail in New England that was once a Green, but is now a Black. Another trail at another ski area had the same name, and it's now off the map entirely. Details, please?
joshua_segal
Can I assume one of the areas is Killington?
xlr8r
Yeah looking at old trail maps, Nivis Walk and Launch Pad at Killington have been changed various times between Green, Blue, and Black.
NewEnglandSkier13
It's not the correct answer, but America at Saddleback went from a black to a green to a blue.

Would that be Juggernaut?
joshua_segal
xlr8r's reply above gave me an answer. Until he said so, I didn't know that the difficulty rating on Killington's Launch Pad had changed. Crotched Mtn.'s beginner area is called "Launch Pad".
Snowmaster
So close. Launch pad and it's magic carpet still exist, though... That was the old routing of Great Eastern, of course.

Pipeline at K and Mountain Creek?
Snowmaster
Sorry, no. Killington is one of the areas, though.
joshua_segal
Killington Trails that disappeared included pretty much all of Sunrise, Juggernaut, Mouse Trap and Heavenly Traverse (now the stairway). Also, there was the top of Ramshead.
Names of trails changed include: East Glade, West Glade, 4-mile Trail and a few others.
Are any of those the Killington trail name we're looking for?
