Hillsborough county active cases reported today are at 67 per NH. Population is around 419,000. Quick rough math in my head would have us at well under 200 per million. Hopefully VT numbers are similar when the new map comes out Friday. Manchester is down to 14, cases, Nashua 12. Right direction.

We can only hope numbers go and stay low. It will be interesting to see how variable these numbers are given NH's small population. Most of Hillsborough counties towns are down to few or no cases. Hopefully leaf peeper season on Monadnock will not drive up numbers too much.

Some real news from VAIL. Planned opening dates.
They seem to expect that the dates will be met. :D
The Wildcat date looks like a nice start for New Hampshire, but Mount Snow usually has a lot more trails initially.
Stowe: 11/20
Okemo:11/21
Mt Snow: 11/14
Hunter:11/20
Attitash: 12/4
Wildcat: 11/13
Mount Sunapee: 11/25
Crotched Mountain: 12/5

Well the Friday map is in! They took the blue pigment out of my green county.
Regret I have to courteously kick out the Vermonters who came to safely visit me yesterday.
But they can now visit my friend 2.6 miles down the road in the next county, whom they were not permitted to visit yesterday.
"absurd" seems to be a good adjective here

Hey we have 415 but still yellow but Windham County VT is 536. That's not fair

Hillsborough county in NH went green as I expected it would, but Cheshire next door on the VT line went yellow. Never ending flip flopping.

Yes, Hillsborough County NH is now GREEN, but we have to cross newly YELLOW Cheshire county to get to Mount Snow.

I wonder if the reservation system will be checking your order for where you are coming from?

Given the day-to-day changes in COVID-19 guidance, I am relieved to hear that the lifts will be spinning at all this winter. I see operations for the entirety of this winter as a moving target that will be updated on a week-to-week basis.

After 2 large 'unmasked' events over the weekend we may not be going anywhere except Crotched for a while.
The good news is a large Continental Paving contingent departed Bennington NH this morning paving Route 47. They passed Crotched at 11:30 am and should be in Francestown by dusk. They may do the return trip tomorrow or pause to pave the Village.
The roads were ground down in both towns in advance so it should be smooth sailing by the weekend.

I'm trying to buy my midweek NE Epic pass using my credit from last year's Peak Pass ( never actually got the credit, but I should be eligible). I can't use it online to downgrade, and Epic's customer service is non existent. Does anyone know any work around to get customer service to actually answer the phone or call back? Trying to give them money and I can't. Must be a sign to go with just the Indy pass.
Edit. Can I purchase in person Monday or Tuesday at Crotched? That would be a PITA but doable.

Have you tried the chat feature on their website? It's a bit clunky, but I got someone (Jane) who knew what she was doing... similar situation, I was helping my daughter who kept her peak pass and had some issues trying to apply her credit. She resolved it fairly quickly, considering, all over chat.

Thank you. I have not tried that yet, but will tomorrow. With my clunky internet, and Vails terrible service and website I don't expect much, but I'll explore every option.

It looks like the live chat is no longer available. I can’t find it on their site anymore.
I was going to try and call and try to downgrade my Local credit from last year to a Northeast Value but it sounds like getting ahold of someone is impossible.
I’ve tried calling a couple times and it just hangs up. I’ll probably just spend the extra $100 for the Local. I know not great service but between Crotched, Wildcat and Attitash I will get my money’s worth.

shpride, Crotched has a posting on facebook that stated if you just put the $49 down they'd sort it out later. If your credit exceeds the price of the pass, then you need to contact them. I can try to help with that.
shpride
Thank you tedede! The information on the crotched Facebook is exactly what I was looking for. I guess this is one of those times not having Facebook could have hurt me.

I finally got someone to answer yesterday. I just put my phone on speaker and went about my work. After only being hung up on once, rather than many times like every other time I tried, someone answered. It was a quick and easy process to downgrade, if you can just get someone to pick up the phone.

One frequent Crotched question answered.
Some new boxes appeared on the sides of buildings pointed towards the different lifts. They appear to be the transponders that would be needed to service RFID scanners

Today it's one day until the end of the discount period on EPIC passes for the coming season. When I went to check something on my account at VAILEPIC.COM
the website had been reconfigured to accommodate a flood of orders. They had done a nice job of dedicating all resources to do one thing, take pass orders. There were 4,000+ callers in the queue with an estimated half hour wait time. An option to drop you an email when your turn came up kept your place so you could return to the site and get in without waiting on line. A nice effort to optimize limited resources.
Hopefully with the end of the discount period things will start to settle and everybody will be able to get what they need.

I bought the northeast something or other, didn't get my 20% discount. Filled out some kind of form, got an email saying they will contact me to buy a pass. My credit card was charged $600 for this fun.
