They were on the Freedom Pass for a while. Now it seems they are charging outrageously high ticket prices though, so their business model seems to have changed.

Plattekill's lift ticket price seems a little high for what they are, but pretty much on par with other fixed grip lift competitors. They are only $8 more than Magic, $10 less than MRG, $4 more than Berkshire East, Smuggs is a few bucks more, etc. Heck, Bolton charges $99-109 for peak all day! Most of the big names and resorts are approaching or have surpassed a hundred. The business model has changed everywhere, get a season pass or spend way too much to ski (or go to BMOM, I took your line :) ).

I guess I'm not used to the prices that the ski areas which cater to New Yorkers charge. Similar size areas in ME & NH (both Blacks, Abram, Dartmouth, etc.) don't charge anywhere near that much. Heck, even Saddleback isn't that expensive. It's really too bad that even many of the "Indy" resorts have moved away from an affordable price model.

I'm hoping for the 3-letter areas Elk & Oak :) :) :)

But agree with Trackbiker, Montage a leading candidate from Pennsy. Elk would probably block out weekends or something.

Wouldn't be surprised if Mt Peter is the NY entry

Montage it is! Plus Titus. Far afield, but definitely fits the "indy" bill, and definitely worth a trip if you can tie it in to something.
