More crunchy stuff than creamy stuff, even with adding an extra cat to the grooming gang (they usually have a group of 4 cats working in tandem lapping the main face, northface and sunbrook) but it was a group of 5 that was working last night after the late freeze up into this morning. Crowds eventually dispersed to some degree out of the main base area with the Bluebird down...
Kind of just checked present today. Run of the day was Moonwalk for my wife and I... the grooming crew had that one much softer and less chunky than anything else we skied.
Not sure, other than to check it off my annual ski every trail list, why we went down Rusty Nail today... ungroomed frozen, semi chunky from the new snow on Saturday... needed a few advil after that one!!
Tomorrow is the transition day, then hard freeze with wind and cold on Tuesday. With no real prospects of precipitation and cold in the 10 day forecast after that, and likely short of maybe a quick top coating of snowmaking on a couple of core trails after the freeze up, going to have to rely on a few days of grooming work to get things to a soft, loose granular status as the week goes on....
