Trail maps that are underwhelming

Decided to avoid all the long lines today and was cleaning and found a treasure. An original 82-83 Killington map! This has to be my all time favorite as I love topo maps.

My main problem with the new Mt Abram map is that this is no attempt at presenting any type of "3D" vision. It could be a nordic map! The old map was better in that way.

A topo map is 3D!

And my Dad would buy us $25 tickets for the NE passage lift only because is was cheaper and we would lap the midstation all day. Those were the days!

They had added a few more midstation trails in '84

Those K topo maps are bar none the best IMHO. Skimaps has up to the last year they used them I believe around '89.

Love that Killington map. Kept one for years but I think it is now no longer. MRG had a good topo map too.

I was able to email a photo of a '78-79 Killington trail map (in a brochure). But I can't figure out how to get it here. The Embedded Photo discussion was way beyond me.

Makes their previous map look like high art -- this is probably the most ham-fisted graphics I've ever seen for such a significant ski resort.

Some of the car and cigarette ad maps from the 1980s were really bad, but it was mostly a reproduction issue.

Cranmore had a Niehues map 20ish years ago that was poorly executed in terms of perspective, but at least it was beautiful to look at.

Wow that is a bad map that makes the area look tiny. I haven't been but hope to change that with my Indy pass this winter. All of the old maps seem to do a much better job of portraying the mountain including the 1969 aerial pic and the 1979 drawing.

Greek Peak has been pushing all summer about their new trail map. It was released yesterday or the day before. Very underwhelming for a ski area with a vertical drop of ~825'

I actually sent Greek Peek an email saying I would do a better job for free.....Its awful

And not only is it underwhelming, it’s downright confusing … you can’t tell which trails go up or down!. Epicurious is down from 1/1A to Castor. Marathon is down from 4 to Pollux. Chrisaean Way is down off of 5 towards Arcadian Gate. All 3 of these greens are drawn up on the map.
