Fantastic. I guess I'll be skiing Okemo a lot this season, with all that new above tree line terrain and sidecountry lines. Literally moved a mountain. Epic. 💯

I totally agree with you! My wife & I made the decision back in the late spring to part ways with Mount Snow & Vail/Epic because of the direction they were going. This year we're going back to our original home mountain (B'East) and are looking forward to less crowds and the corporate mindset. The only downside is having to travel 40 mins. south from our second home in Willington instead of driving 10 mins up the road but the experience will be worth it.

The simple fact is that the level of marketing picture details that the "average" SJ'er is in tune with vs what the "average" skier/rider of most any resort is in tune with are 2 vastly different things

Heck, over on one of the FB Epic Passholders groups, there's been a plethora of threads the last few days of people, who seemed legimitately stunned that the Epic Northeast Resorts who were targeting an opening this weekend, won't be opening because of how uncooperative Mother Nature has been thus far snowmaking wise, let alone the same people seem to be surprised when they find out that an opening weekend rarely has more than a handful of trails strung together to create only 1 or 2 runs to ski/ride on.

The lack of basic knowledge of what the real day to day ski operations at any area are, is one of the many key factors that allow the mega passes to sell so many to the masses, who then often end up shocked when they find out that it's not always sunny with comfortable temps and soft conditons and the entire mountain open, as the marketing photos suggest! :D

On Bing, this thread comes up first when you search "Vail sucks." It looks like all of the major skiing forums, Alpine Zone, Teton Gravity Research, Newschoolers, etc., all have Vail sucks threads.

I'm legitimately (not really) stunned that the Vail Resorts will not give credits/refunds for zero use of 2020/21 passes.
