50% more product sold (season passes) than same period last year when Crotched was operating at 50% of capacity (Covid Rules) and reservations were required. There should be lots of parking, right?

That's true (and I got your sarcasm). They've had 2-2 1/2 months to perform maintenance on the lifts so how is it that other resorts (not owned by Vail) got their maintenance done in time?

Just another example of the highly professional customer service you get went you give Vail your hard earned money!

Maintenance and safety are just the corporate feel-good mumbo jumbo. I'm sure there is another reason like difficulty staffing because they weren't paying enough or a directive from Denver to mothball anything that doesn't help sell epic passes. I think you hit the nail on the head. Ever since Vail bought out Peaks Resort they have been taking away some things and charging more for others. Look at Mount Snow's Brewfest & their Oktoberfest. They dropped them to 1 day events and lower the breweries attending while increasing the admission price from $20-25 a day to $65! No MTB lessons & you can't go up to the Bullwheel and sit on the deck and order food or beer. Their claim is for the safety of everyone due to COVID but the State of Vermont has dropped all restrictions and everything is back to normal.

This maintenance should have started right after the ski season ended so they were ready to open for the summer season. All the other areas do, why not Vail?

Wow, down to just scenic chairlift rides. That's pretty pathetic. The page still features a picture of the alpine slide.

Wildcat has also removed all of their summer attractions (zip rider, disc golf, etc.) except for chairlift rides. But it looks like the rides are going to be on one of the smaller triples, not even the Tomcat which goes 2/3 of the way up. This is really sad what Vail is doing to these resorts which uses to have a variety of activities year-round.

Its a sign Vail still will not care about these mountains next ski season. There were plenty of excuses last season ranging from Covid, low staffing, and new inexperienced leadership that arrived in November. There are no easy excuses now.

Begs the question, is there anything at all that compels Vail to do anything different at Attitash and Wildcat? Seems to me they could repeat last season's dismal on-mountain product and still sell more passes.

I would think that if we see an announcement of some changes in the GM/Mtn Ops positions for Attitash/Wildcat that one could read into it that the home office in Broomfield wants something different this season. If there is no changes, then last seasons operations may be what we get this year... Not that Vail is very forthcoming with so many of their plans publicly anyway, so we very well may not know anything until say Christmastime...

They were crawling like ants working on the Summit Criple yesterday. Meanwhile the Alpine Slide has weeds growing in it...

Down the road 45 minutes Loon was bustling in the off season per usual, including the massive 8 pack going in.
