Crotched's odd shutdown this week is getting wider spread attention. Nobody here knows what's up?

Who schedules maintenance during the day on a day that anyone with even a modicum of experience in the ski industry (or any tourist who skis between XMas and New Year's? I won't fill up the CM management with an email as I am sure it's overflowing.

I was hoping that someone in the know might chime in on the situation. Valley has not run yet and the Web Cam shows the same ladder resting on the bottom bull wheel since last weekend. With the West lift now down today(hopefully temporary), it would be really nice to be able to run Valley to take to load off the Rocket.

Nope, he's been keeping busy patrolling on the hill, seen him on the web cam frequently this week.

Hopefully they can fill us in on the lift situation, the wed-Sun ticket approach, and why in the world they would close at 2:30 on Christmas week... inquiring minds want to know!

Looks like they just officially announced that they are going to a 5 day a week schedule for the foreseeable future:

Dear Crotched Mountain family,
It has been a challenging start to the 2021-22 ski season here at Crotched Mountain. Mother Nature has been historically stingy with natural snow and consistent snowmaking temperatures, and we’ve had to contend with significant hurdles in regard to the COVID pandemic and staffing.
As a result of these challenges, we have made the difficult decision to amend our schedule of operations to Wednesday through Sunday, beginning January 1, with the following hours: Wed. 9-5; Thurs-Sat. 9-9; Sun. 9-5. This change to a five-day schedule will allow our hard-working resort teams to better focus on delivering the best possible ski and ride experience for our guests on those days. We will continue working toward solutions to these challenges and will reassess our operations strategy as the season progresses, so please stay tuned to our website and social media channels for updates.
I’d like to take this opportunity to recognize the dedication of our resort teams and the continued support from our guests that we’ve received thus far this season. We have truly all been in this together, and that unity has been – and will continue to be – vital to our success. We remain committed to doing everything in our power to make this the best season it can be.

So it looks like night skiing is out. At least they're partially admitting it has to do with staffing. I think we'd all like more transparency.

Understood and respected. After working at the Mtn. for years, I can only guess what this year is like for you guys.

At least management has provided clarity regarding the schedule, can't say that I'm thrilled, or surprised either. It would be helpful if more frequent communication was the trend, but understand that local management has to follow directives from above.

Hoping for better weather and news to come as winter continues.......
