You should definitely do a Maine trip if you get the chance! Ride the old T-bars at BMOM, Abram, Titcomb, and maybe Baker. Saddleback, Big Squaw (views of Moosehead Lake & Katahdin), & Camden Snow Bowl (views of the ocean) also very unique and worthwhile stops.

Portland is definitely the best airport to fly into, it's about an hour and a half away from BMOM, Farmington, and Abram. There is a new Best Western opening in Rumford, but I would highly recommend staying in Farmington. Farmington is the biggest town in western Maine, so it has lots of great dining options, it has the cheapest lodging in the area (Mount Blue Motel, Farmington Motel, Colonial Valley Motel, etc.), and every ski area I mentioned is within an easy day's drive.

Cisco, I'd be up for a SR day at BMOM. You'd want to plan it well into the season so the glades will have good cover.

As of now, planned opening day is December 23, but that can changed based on weather.

Cisco if you are going to stay near Black Mountain the only real choice is the Hotel Rumford, right on the canal downtown. Lodging upstairs, noisy local pub downstairs. You can smell the paper company if the wind is right. Sign says "Open 7 Days A Week Except Sunday"

I'm not actually sure if they're operating as a lodging property. I do like the restaurant though. Most BMOM skiers staying overnight usually have stayed at the Boardwalk Inn in Rumford or in Wilton/Farmington. There is also the Blue Iris Motor Inn in Rumford and now the new Best Western will be opening.

Oh that's too bad. I spent a night there a couple years ago and it was really sketchy. Had a great time

The Boardwalk is best local bet for now.

Knotty Moose cabins in Roxbury, with bar/restaurant onsite.

The Human Nature Hostel on the back side of BMOM is a pretty cool place and in a strategic location for accessing Rumford Whitecap Backcountry, or BMOM. Seems like their page is undergoing reconstruction so unable to link. Google is your friend.

The new Best Western is behind schedule but they are pushing hard to have it open for February. I believe the old Hotel Harris, with Chamberlains restaurant on the main floor is still renting rooms but reviews are mixed. I have heard that the rooms are more set up for rentals like AirBnB, instead of a hotel.

Other options available in Andover should be considered as well as it's not that bad of a drive and a quiet winter retreat.

Not sure about the Hotel Rumford whether or not they are still offering a few rooms for rent.

For dining, The Lure, recently relocated from the top of Falls Hill, to the Rumford island has a new décor and excellent food (Thai and sushi are excellent believe it or not) and they have an extensive tap list. Just go in expecting to be there for a minimum of 2 hours as the food is slow to come out.

As an FYI, BMOM is pretty accepting of overnight car camping

Pine Ellis Lodging, if they have room, and if you go with the right mindset. It's not for everyone. ;)

Ticket pricing has been released. Thursdays will be $15 and Fridays will be $25. Weekend prices will be $55 for a full day and $45 for the afternoon. It's a bigger jump than I was hoping to see, as it puts us on par with Abram for a weekend ticket, but it's still more affordable than most surrounding options.

After yesterday's few inches of snow, there are excellent packed powder conditions for opening day! Androscoggin, Kennebec, Sunday, and Ellis are open, along with both chairlifts. We're close to having enough snow to open some limited natural terrain.
