You have to remember: This country couldn't handle the Metric System. I don't think GMT will fly!!!

That's how it works in China (single time zone for entire country even though it would normally be four). With Beijing and eastern population centers having the fairly normal sunrise/sunset.

Interestingly enough, we are partially on the metric system now....medication is given in mg, we buy soda in 2 liter bottles, I run 5k races, our monetary system, the BMI index, blood pressure, etc. Someday, somehow we'll probably all go metric.
