I successfully completed my 77-run skiing marathon in honor of my upcoming 77th birthday. This is the 8th year that I've done this. (The attached photo shows 79 because the app counts the run from my condo to the lift as a run, and I did one extra for good luck!)

I was accompanied on a number of the runs with "quietman".

Using an algorithm (beyond the scope of this posting), a check will be sent from me to the "NH Foodbank" for $1210 to commemorate this event.

A summary of the day is shown below.

FWIW: Ski Tracks gives me credit for too much.

The Rocket rises about 875 vertical, so 78x875=68,250. Still, not too shabby.

Joshua's tracker shows the issue I have with Ski Tracks, and other apps - the "drift" in start/stop elevations throughout the day, even though he was using the same lift. He has the best data set to show this that I've seen since he took so many runs. I'm still curious why these apps do that.

I ran 3-trackers yesterday: Ski Tracks is consistently high; WeSki is closest to accurate; and SNOWW is very low.

This was the best day of winter condition skiing this season at CM.

The strange combination of precipitation yesterday + excellent grooming resulted in PP on pretty much every trail that held up for the entire day.

My first glade report of the season which should hold up thru at least the rest of this weekend follows:
1. Final Frontier and all its chutes generally referred to as the "remi glades" all had good cover and skied well. You did have to remain alert for pucker-brush.
2. Kuiper Belt will likely be unskiable for the rest of this season due to excessive deadfall.
3. Dark Star: Only tried the T-Bar line which offered some nice turns at the top and bottom. The middle was bony and gnarly.
4. Solstice Glade, both the trail and the glade skied well, albeit with thin cover. The glade still features many untracked lines.
5. Uranus (off Milky Way between UFO and Velocity), though in bounds is not on the trail map. Many breakthroughs, many rocks, much deadfall and not recommended.

I didn't try any of the others.

Quietman

Crotched was turning on the on the snowmaking guns as I was leaving tonight. This was after 2" of the softest powder fluff fell today.

Looks like the Crotch is closed Monday’s starting March 13.

Open Mondays 9 to 4 (Same as winter hours). The first change is Tuesday, March 14. The only changes are: No night skiing on the remaining Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; Also, no night skiing on March 25-6 (likely, the final weekend).

This change on night skiing in late March, is both a result of decreasing attendance as well as snow from the warm days firming up in the evening creating a difficult situation as the afternoon's ruts freeze solid.

Was able to ski some glades with Joshua today, and they are in top form! Hit them while the are good!

Is this where we start to argue the notion that when they cease to be open 7 days a week their season is over? The same logic was (attempted to be) applied to the beginning of the season.

Yeah, probably it does...Most restaurants in my town are not open 7 days a week. But they don't have a 4-month window to make their nut
