Killington begins with a coat in several areas

Why did they shut down. It’s still cold, no?

Lots of rumors, nothing solid, other than guns are off. Certainly temps are not the issue this evening.

The web page said 34 degrees this afternoon. I know that is that base, might have gotten too warm

It was a full curtailment 5-8pm. I feel like a broken record by now on 3 different forums lol.

Which I thought only happened when it was super cold. Upper 20's seems mild for curtailment, but whatever. Still plenty of time and firepower to get enough to rock and roll

It certainly is weird, but I've had 3 people over there who are leads tell me the same thing so I have to go with that.

Blasting away again

At the time of this post, it is snowing quite hard even at the bottom of Snowshed. North Ridge guns have resumed operating. Hard to see if any other portion has guns going but a good guess would assume superstar and canyon has also resumed.

They are still thumping away

It’s official passholder day Friday 10am

Their email:
Greetings from The Beast,
Grab your gear and try to contain yourself… The longest season in the East starts this Friday at 10:00 a.m.! As usual, we’ll kick things off with our passholder appreciation day on Friday and then on Saturday, at 9:00 a.m., we will open to the general public. Lift tickets will be available for purchase Thursday, November 2 at 2:00 p.m. or you can grab a Season Pass now to join us for the official Day One on Friday. As a bonus, we’ll be offering free lunch and making a donation to the charity of your choice – Burton CHILL, Yes Kids or the Snow Angel Foundation – for those passholders who join us on Day One. The free lunch will be available at the K-1 Lodge, Peak Lodge or Subie Shack.
Killington’s stellar snowmaking team has spent many hours blanketing the North Ridge in a coat of white, and thanks to their hard work we'll be skiing and snowboarding on Rime and Reason. After opening day the K-1 Express Gondola will spin from 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. everyday, and we’ll use the Peak Walkway to get to and from the North Ridge Area for skiing and snowboarding – yes walking is required. The final ride up K-1 will be at 3:00 p.m. and North Ridge Quad will turn until 3:45 p.m. As always, early season terrain is suitable for intermediate and advanced skiers and riders only; no easier terrain is available at this time. The Woodward Mountain Park crew will have a few features set up for Day One jibbing on Reason and will continue to build out that park as early season rolls on.
Remember, all lift tickets and rentals must be purchased online, either in advance or on the day of. Pick up kiosks are available inside the K-1 Lodge. As a reminder, Killington is a cashless resort. We accept Samsung, Google and Apple Pay, as well as all major credit cards. Reverse ATMs are available.
Be sure to keep an eye on the Conditions Report for the latest trail conditions and operational updates.
See you on the slopes!

Looks pretty good on North Ridge for just 2 trails open at noon time. Of course crowded too. But I've seen much, much worse. Chairs are full but IDK how the queue is. Have fun peeps!!

11/6/23: Monday
Started my season today. It was the usual opening with Peak stairway both down in the AM and back up in the PM.
The trail was well-covered T2B and I would guess an average depth of 2-feet. It will take a monster spell of hot weather to destroy/melt-out the base.
Superstar looked lovely T2B, but of course, it will not open to the public until after the world Cup.
No lift lines. The traffic was just right. When the chair is running full, there are just too many people. The surface was lovely groomed granular early in the day, becoming soft bumps with slick patches by noon.

Sounds fun, Joshua. Hope to see you up there soon.

Stairs go one way tomorrow. That didn't take long.

Temps have been good, on balance. Superstar looks fantastic this far out from WC.

They pushed out at least Preston’s Pitch.

Whole trail got a once over.

Russ glad to hear from you, just finally finished listening to your podcasts.
Joshua you still wearing that knit cap?
Unfortunately they’re calling for close to 60 here next week
