Yes, except when I am wearing my Patrol Parka, when I am required to wear a helmet.

Unfortunately they’re calling for close to 60 here next week
Bob - which podcasts are these that Russ is hosting?

Nov. 13, 2023 - Mon.
Killington followed their normal progression, with Great Northern down to the North Ridge open. One still has to climb to get back to K1 for lunch or the end of the day. Upper East Fall was open, but extremely icy. It was either ungroomed or minimally groomed.
High for today remained sub-freezing all day. Killington snowguns were blasting away on Superstar and Skye Lark. Why they weren't taking advantage of the weather to work on Snowden also is beyond me. The system was charged and one fan-gun was running at the bottom of Mouse Trap.
I think the clear message is: "everything for the World Cup" and a few crumbs for their loyal customers. The good news is that their nearby competition; Okemo, Stowe and probably Mount Snow will be opening this weekend - all will be T2B.

I saw you around 10:30. You were up at the front of the line as I was in back waiting for a friend. Didn't see you again after. They have blown on Ridge Run some, so hopefully they have done something on the connection down. Either way, it was great to be dropping a knee againI

Sorry I missed you. I was skiing with my usual crowd. They, like me, will start skiing at epic venues starting after this weekend. A few of them are Killington regulars, but a bunch of them are Stowe and Okemo people. And like me, they won’t be back until the spring.

From their social media feeds a few minutes ago, Killington has received positive snow control from the FIS for the WC races! Now as long as mother nature gives a fair, safe weather situation race days, it's on! Kudos to the K snowmakers!

There was never any doubt. Killington has always passed snow control.

This might be their "least stressful" one thus far

Nets going up on SS. Forecast looks terrific. Mid-week warmup will put some moisture in the snow that will lock up Thursday. Weekend should be terrific for races.

Agreed. They had that early window and blew it out in basically 3 days. Since then, they've had multiple shorter windows and now they have been blowing out Skylark the last week or 2 when they've had the chance and filling back in on SS. Only thing is that they haven't opened any additional terrain other than Northridge. It looks like they have been blowing and I am assuming they will try and get Snowdon open this week/weekend.

What a perfect window for the WC races...Killington crushed it again and the weather gods helped in a big way

Question please for Kmart regulars...about a month ago I bought an online ticket for tomorrow, paid for that, plus $5 for a one pass card, plus tax. I have a barcode and it says I'm supposed to go to a kiosk. Will I have to do anything beyond that or pay anything further? (rustproofing and undercoating?)
Chuckstah
Scan the barcode at a kiosk and the tickets will pop out. Simple and they already have your $. Ticket window is nearby if there's an issue.

cool! thanks

12/8/23 Friday
Well I passed on the extended warranty and enjoyed what was probably my best Killington experience ever due to excellent conditions and superior lack of bodies.
Every lift, including the gondola, was ski-on. Actually the gondy was walk-on but whatever.
Fantastic conditions on Mouse Run and Bunny Buster and those trails on Snowden. Caper was open with wonderful skiing on Rams Head, the chair formerly known as Glades was running, Superstar, and Snowshed. Great conditions all around although I didn't make it to Superstar.
Only downer was Snowshed, went through the tunnel planning to really tear it up and dominate that area, but it was mostly solid frozen snow and chunk frozen poultry parts. I swallowed my pride and went back through the tunnel.
Speaking of tunnels, this was my first time there with the new tunnels on Snowden, I think those are going to prevent a lot of collisions and problems. I realize they ain't natural looking and whatnot but neither is a high speed sixpack with a blue bubble on it. So, kudos to Kmart for building them.

March 26-28, 2024 - Tues thru Thurs.
This is my first return to Killington since my early November days. I did buy the Spring Pass and glad that I did.
Tuesday was wonderful. The surface remained powdery and most trails, including Blue Squares, had bumped up. Glades looked good, but I avoid glades when I am skiing alone. Run of the day was North Star with its incredible bumps.
Wednesday, it rained all day. Powdery bumps turned to crud and were downright unpleasant. Much of the ungroomed areas were groomed. I did stay out all day despite the rain. The snow is deep everywhere and it was a luxury to have 100% access to the mountain this late in the season. The runs of the day were East Fall and Highline.
Today (Thursday) hasn't happened yet, but I have low expectations. I'll fill in details later. Added: Similar conditions to Wednesday, but without the rain.

April 28, 2024 - Sunday
Last day for the North Ridge and K1.
The AM was mostly sunny. Lots of bumps. Best bumps were on Middle Ovation; worst were on Double Dipper.
Superstar was groomed three cat-widths wide and skied nicely in the AM. By late afternoon, it really crudded up (typical of late spring condx).
i suspect it would have been very crowded if only Superstar was running, but with K1 and the North Ridge, there were no lines all day.

April 29, 2024 - Monday
Another fine day, but everything east of Bittersweet is now closed.
Middle Ovation will be around for a while, but the return to Superstar will be by walking by the weekend.
Upper Skyehawk was still open, but there are a few bare spots to negotiate.
Skiing was really nice considering that it didn't get cold enough last night to set up.
