Got back to Gore today after 3 weeks away.
More is certainly open - Hawkeye and Chatiemac off the summit, Cloud, Santanoni, Wood Lots, Lower Darby, Woodchuck and Hullabaloo off High Peaks. Echo was open off Burnt Ridge but only for racers - so that doesn't count. So not a whole lot more from 3 weeks ago.
It snowed lightly throughout the day, maybe 1-2" max.
Snowmaking was ongoing on Sunway, as apparently yesterday it was a wind blown ice sheet and dangerous to ski down. Jibland also had snowmaking, that's a walkup terrain park near the J-bar. Snowmaking was also apparently ongoing on Backwoods and into the Ski Bowl for that interconnect.
The skiing was good - about average. Icy spots and skied off areas developed during the day. Morning was pretty good.
It does seem that snowmaking is not quite what it was the last few years. Many of the trails have a relatively limited base. Some trails like Showcase are half width. Others were commenting on this that something seems off. Hopefully they will get more terrain open soon and deepen the bases.
Still, a good day.
