I was at Mt Jefferson yesterday Sat Feb 8th. Ill start by saying this im no means an expert but worked in the industry for 10 plus years and have twice that in the Hospitality industry.
Iv been to 206 different ski areas this ranked at top 3 worst experiences (Whitecaps Wi, Whaleback NH being the other 2)
Now i was at Jefferson 9 years ago very good experience, very welcoming, great trails , good snow A plus experience.
Yesterday was D- maybe F+. Parking lot completely filled with wood processing machine wood in log lengths, boards, slabs, bark piles saw dust mounds, Rotten wood - Maybe room for 15 cars max. Trash outside the lodge overfiling trash cans. Broken smoking station, weeds, assorted odds and ends a absolute mess. Not much better inside just junk everywhere. No room to sit not inviting at all. Ticket was 45.99 yesterday ok no problem happy to help the Mtn. Unfortunately not a cent is going into that place.
The Hall t bar is just rattling itself to peices massive cavatating noises comming from both bull wheels many Ts maybe ½ broken or just flagged to not be used. Issues with the sleeve trains on one tower i doubt the lift even passed inspection no signage at bottom or anywhere not sure what Maine requirements are.
The sad part - The owner has logged the ski area. Once nice classic trails are just surrounded by the clear cutting it didn’t even look like he was pulling out good Timber from there.
At noon the T bar derailed both sides according
to the radio traffic. Called it a day after 7 runs.
Complete mess.
Very sad experience
