Trails that are named as two halves of an expression

I'm pretty sure we had this one on SJ1.0, but since that's inaccessible, I thought we could revisit it.  To start:

Waterville Valley: Tippecanoe; And Tyler too.
Killington: Rime/Reason (Rhyme and Reason)
Gore: Agony and Ecstasy.

What can you add?

I don't think Gore has Agony and Ecstasy - Sunday River?
Gore has Rumor and Lies though.

    You are correct.

What is the backstory on Rumor and Lies? I thought I read it somewhere. Wasn't there a third one (Innuendo?) in the mix?

I joke that the lie with Lies is that it is a double black. When groomed, it's a high black.

Rumor has quite the pitch, though.

    Rumor is wicked steep, agreed!
  • Sunday River has Heat's On / Heat's Off. Not an expression but they go together.

Hi Road/Lo Road and Big Dipper/Little Dipper at Black, NH are the same idea

I think Innuendo was a trail that Gore started to cut but thought better of. You can see a trace of it on aerial photos, between Rumor and Lies.

I see that now, thanks. GE labels the connector to Lies as "The Mistake" (and calls Rumor "The Rumor")

This is correct. Supposedly, it was all rock ledge where Gore wanted to cut the trail and it would have been difficult to maintain snow on the trail.

Little & Big Dipper as mentioned above, also at Snow, Catamount has Off Stage & On Stage

But I don't think these qualify as an expression?

If somebody says something outrageous, you might respond "Rumours and Lies!"

Not sure when the response would be "Little Dipper and Big Dipper!" or "In road and Out road!"

???   Never used either expression, personally speaking.

Who's in charge of this thread?

well if you are talking "complimentary" trail names rather than "expressions"

Gore has "Wood-In" and "Wood-Out"   I am not making that up

Lies is plenty steep. Is the headwall or average pitch in the top 10 in the state? Almost anything with new corduroy on it isn't that hard.

Also at Gore: Wood In and Wood Out.

Canaan Valley, WV:  Weiss Way In and Weiss Way Out  (to enter and leave the 3 Weiss Meadows runs)

Timberline, WV:  Herz and Hiz (two short connector trails; Fred Herz is founder and co-owner of T-line)

High Road and Low Road should count since it's a song lyric (Loch Lomond).

Much easier when it doesn't have to be an expression.   Got a few:
Raggedy Ann & Raggedy Andy at Ragged again.
Big Dipper & Double Dipper at Killington
Psyched and Psyched Out at Waterville

You can probably add Lemon and Lime at Sunapee to that list. They are on South Peak in carpet world.
