The lift that was downgraded only had the chairs changed. This lift stands, but does not currently run. The lift that was upgraded was mostly replaced except for the towers.

Mt. Abram still has t-bars. Hard to follow thread, but I think the OP means that the only lifts on cables are chairlifts now.

I don’t think any lift at either Nashoba or Camden have been upgraded or downgraded in capacity, but not totally replaced. Neither have a standing chairlift that doesn’t run.

-The standing but idle lift is also a conundrum, but also a clue. How many areas have idle lifts?

-All chairs, but might have a carpet

-All replaced lifts were t-bars. Also pretty small number, is my guess. Takes a place like Okemo or BW out…

-I think the capacity thing is a red herring, except for you lift nuts who keep up on that stuff.

So, time to scratch the head…would be good to know where this is in the US (if in US at all) but that may be asking too much.

Powder Ridge?

I know they have a triple that used to be a quad.  And looking at their website it looks like they have lift served mtn biking.

</blockquote>Yes, it is Powder Ridge! Removed overhead cable lifts are the Upper and Lower t-bars and the current overhead cable lifts are the Mini-Field Double, the Festival Double, the Middlefield Triple (uses the same towers as the old South Double), and the 747 quad which was downgraded from a quad. They offer lift-served mountain biking so the lifts are open year-round & the 747 triple does not currently run.

I occasionally find myself reading through old threads. I had read through much of this one recently, and with it fresh in mind, came across something relevant last night.

At our neighborhood bar, we were playing our weekly trivia game. Usually, one of the rounds is "3 clues, 1 word". Sometimes, this is 3 separate clues that all have the same single word answer. Sometimes, these are 3 clues that put together should point you to one word. It was the latter last night.

With last night's round fitting directly with this thread, I'll share the clues for a 1-time revival.

1) Salty and tubular snack manufacturer
2) Derived from the language of the people New York's second tallest peak is named after - meaning "near the mountain"
3) A "Loco" Winter destination

Name that area in 3 clues!

While I don't know the answer, I do know that NY's 2nd tallest Mountain is Algonquin Peak. Maybe that will help someone else's guess.

Clue 1 does not hint directly to the ski area itself, though it is eponymous with it. That may help you!
