NewEnglandSkier13 1/18/2020 True packed powder conditions today! The skiing is excellent and there is a good base for the storm coming tonight. It is cold, but the lack of wind means that it isn't that bad.
NewEnglandSkier13 1/19/2020 Wow, today was quite a day! Over half a foot of blower powder on top of at least as much base, allowed the mountain to be 100% open. Our Blackout deal (1/2 price tickets for those blacked out at other mountains), combined with the new snow, meant that the mountain was as crowded as I've ever seen it. The lines for the triple approached 10 minutes at times. We couldn't have asked for a better MLK weekend!
TomWhite Sam, three of us had a nice day at Black Mt. on Friday. However, there was a major disappointment. The trail report at the ticket booth said 24 trails open. But when we got up top, Upper Allagash was roped off. The online report this morning is the same. Upper and Lower Allagash and St. John are closed. How does one access the open trails beyond St. John?

TomWhite I was thinking of all the glades lookers left of St. John. But since the glades aren't listed, just Lazy River of those listed open.

Yeah, they shouldn't have marked Lazy River as open. Those glades are only accessible when St. John is open, but they don't really have enough snow right now anyways.
NewEnglandSkier13 1/25/2020 The good conditions continued today! Everything except Allagash, St. John, Lazy River, and Songo are open. The snow was soft and afternoon snow brought a couple inches of powder. Tonight's storm looks like mostly rain, but it shouldn't be a wash-out and tomorrow should be nice.
NewEnglandSkier13 1/26/2020 AM We gained a few inches from the storm overnight and the soft snow should make skiing excellent today! It likely won't be busy because most got rain last night, but anyone who is here will find it well worth it.
NewEnglandSkier13 1/26/2020 PM As expected, it was a great day of spring skiing! Things softened up nicely, but we will need some more snow soon if the natural trails are to stay open.
NewEnglandSkier13 2/1/2020 We didn't lose much snow over the week, but it did firm up. Most trails are still open, and there is enough snow to ski low-angle glades. Some sections got scraped off in the afternoon, but the skiing is still good. This snow should be a good base, if we get more snow this week.
NewEnglandSkier13 2/2/2020 It is a perfect bluebird day on the mountain with soft snow and all lifts running! Enjoy some T-bar photos!
NewEnglandSkier13 2/8/2020 8" of powder here today! The woods are great and there is only a little wind crust in exposed areas. there is a decent base under the snow and we are 100% open! Probably the best conditions yet this year.
