Flew back east from Denver yesterday- right over MA/VT line. Haystack had a T2B line of snow, Mt Snow had several trails white, and Bromley had been working. Stratton faced north so I could just see white on the very top. I think I also saw snow on West Mt in NY, but not sure of that one.

Sure it wasn't Oak or Gore?

West typically has a fairly active social media page, and they haven't posted any snowmaking pics, to my knowledge at least, recently., And I know that both Oak and Gore have had the guns running the last few days

I got an email earlier from Okemo about tomorrow being opening day......

Then a "correction" email just now that opening day is the 25th.

Wonder if this was an EPIC communication screw up, or whether a closer look at snowmaking production resulted in the change? Either way.....

Sugarbush just moved opening day to Monday Nov 30th.

I am heading to Wachusett shortly to get some turns in. Can't believe my local mountain is tied for first in the east this year. I would guess this is the first time they have been able to make that claim since SR and K are usually well under way by the time Wawa gets online. Although this is a week or 2 late for Wawa compared to the past few seasons.

The pivot from this weekend to next Wednesday for all 3 VT properties seemed to happen on Tuesday, the day before the week of reservations opened up (which they then extended to include Thanksgiving Weekend reservations available this Wednesday)

Not sure if it is Vail taking a wait and see what happens at Killington this weekend with respect to the state of VT enforcing the quarantine status or not? Since the reality is with the forecast the next week and only limited, marginal snowmaking windows likely between now and then, and the warmer temps and liquid precip at times as well, its not like they're going to be able to produce a bunch more snow in that time frame if there's not enough already on the planned opening day trails.

My guess is the delay call falls under the "out of an abundance of caution...." category right now

Couple shots from Bromley. Pic of the snow gun is to show how they have hoses going into this gun, and then also continuing on to a 2nd gun. Never seen this before - one set of hoses, 2 guns.

The pic of the groomer tracks is Upper Twister from efforts today (Sunday) to partially spread out some of the whales. I presume to get a better idea of coverage and where they need to augment during the Monday PM-Wednesday AM snowmaking window.

The whale is from upper Corkscrew. They did not try to groom this out as lower section did not enough snow.

Hopefully they can make planned Friday opening. From what I see I think they can but they do need the upcoming window to be productive, and the non-frozen precip to not be too damaging.

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 23

It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for.

The 2020/21 winter season starts tomorrow at 9AM with two lifts and top-to-bottom terrain on Locke and Barker Mountains. We’re opening first for season pass and ticket pack holders, with lift ticket access planned to begin December 14.

We’ve been working to get the resort ready to open, but now we need your help. Season passholders should check the Passholder Hub to make sure their passes are ready for RFID lift access and every guest should review our COVID-19 protocols to make a plan before heading to the mountain.

We’re excited to welcome you back to your happy place.

Gun #1 was well removed from hydrant - 3 linked hoses. Gun #2 was another 2 links further away from hydrant.
