Long time sister resort, Mount Snow, unless it's a core trails where whales will likely pose a significant risk to the average skier/rider on them(those tend to get pushed out before the next operating day) or there's some weather event that dictates pushing them sooner than they want, tend to leave a fresh whale for a minimum of 3 to 4 days before pushing them out, and in some cases, especially if it's an expert trail on the Northface and there are other open, groomed expert trails available there, they may leave them for well over a week or 2 before pushing them out, and then often they get pushed out because of a thaw/freeze cycle to make the surface usable for the masses again.
I have not seen any change under Vail resorts at Mount Snow atleast, with how they have handled this aspect of snow surface management. Vail seemingly has let the crew at the mountain handle the snow in the way that they have in the past, with the only variable possibly being some budgetary restrictions that may be seeing some less frequent grooming and/or a few less passes width wise, on some wider trails. That last bit is purely speculation on my part just based on what my own eyes have seen
