This is just a continuation of the lack of communications from Vail owned areas. Crotched should be allowed to give a valid reason beyond "icing" for the Rocket being down for a 2nd day. I was watching the cam and the lift was moving in short moments for about 30 minutes, and figured that it must be something else. I really wanted to get some runs in today, but not with a long line for just Valley. A simple statement of "The rocket is down and we are working on the issue" would have be so much better. Full information of "We are waiting for a part needed for repair" would be light years beyond the message of "on hold for icing" well after the weather event had cleared. Vail's unwillingness to allow individual mountains to post timely and concise operational updates is hurting them and their customers, who show up expecting services that the mountain is unable to provide, and then the poor local employees get the grief!
Message to Vail, no one looks and the Twitter Ops post before leaving for the mountain!!! And even that gives very little info, probably as directed by Vail.
Vail now owns lot of local areas, wake up and let them run a little like local hills, and start with communication.
Aargh!
