You know what a climbing harness is. The lanyard is a short rope with hardware that connects the harness to whatever you are hanging from.

The article did not explain what the lanyard was and as someone who never rode a zip-line, I was asking an honest question.

I've been pleased to see a lot of deferred maintenance work being done this off-season. In my 15-years at CM, I have never seen so many paid people on the hill actually working! That being said, the one thing they have done regularly:in all previous seasons was to remove the appropriate number of chairs from each lift to do the required number of grip-checks.
