Wildcat’s summit is now closed due to a lack of snow. Small low elevation rope tow areas had enough snow to operate this weekend. Did they even make snow up there? Also, the snow conditions report has absolutely terrible grammer, especially for supposedly being written by the general manager. There were 5 trails open yesterday, and all were green circles.

"9:20 am UPDATE - Snow conditions have been significantly impacted by overnight weather and all natural trails will remain closed today for safety purposes. Grooming was limited in an effort to preserve snow pack, and any ungroomed trails have unfavorable ski conditions. Today’s lift & terrain offering will be limited to the Tomcat and Snowcat lifts with access to Middle & Lower Polecat & the Snowcat slope. We will continue to work on a plan for resurfacing tonight going into tomorrow, and greatly appreciate your patience!

Headline: Rise & Shine, Morning Came a Little Early!
Good Morning Wildcat Community –
Spring has sprung and more daylight is in store for us today as our clocks are asking, why aren’t you up yet? Its going to feel downright warm from the moment you walk out the door today to the when you leave as we have been hovering right around the 50 degree mark all last night and will stay there throughout the day. We also expect to see the sun return this afternoon as morning cloudiness and fog will gradually clear. In full transparency the mountain is going to look and and feel a very different today as we picked up a bit of moisture last night as well as experience a blower dry effect on the snow with consistent winds. These winds are expected to carry throughout the day and are already impacting lift operations.
For today’s lift operations, we are open from 8:30am – 4pm with 4 lifts, weather permitting, and please note the Wildcat Express is starting the day on windhold. We will attempt to operate the Tomcat instead as well as the Bobcat, Snowcat, and Snow Belt. This footprint could change as our teams assess winds this morning, so please tuned for more. Please have trust that our teams will do anything they can to safely operate our lifts to provide as much access as possible.
When it comes to trail conditions, grooming team took a light approach given how soft our snowpack was. Our team is working to put some limited passes on our beginner terrain, while the remainder of snowmaking terrain was left ungroomed to preserve snowpack. The cats can actually have a hard time climbing the hill in these soft conditions, hurting the trail more than helping. Despite being ungroomed, this terrain should ski well today given the unchanged temperatures. As stated above, our Patrol team will be out assessing terrain this morning, and our Trail Status page may be inaccurate to what you will experience when you arrive. Please stay tuned to our Lift & Trail Status page and the My Epic App closer to 8:30am for the most accurate information.
If you haven’t stopped in to grab your Wildcat logo gear at Wildcat Sports this season, now is the time as select apparel is now 30% as we go into latter part of our winter season. The Bobcat Bar will also be open today serving your favorite libations, including my recommendation to check out our new signature hot espresso beverages with both adult & non-adult options. Feeling like your equipment is a bit sticky today? Stop into the friendly and knowledgeable team in our Rental & Tuning shop where you can get a quick hot wax 10 min for $30.
Looking forward to the rest of the month we have a ton of great events coming up such as hosting the 75th Wildcat Ski Team Sap Run on March 14th & 15th, one of the oldest ski races in the state, and a special Wildcat ski day with the Mount Washington Valley Adaptive Sports program on Saturday March 21st, where new and existing participants can develop their skills on Wildcat’s signature terrain. Finally, we are super excited for the return of the ever popular Spring Fling and Pond Skim on Saturday April 4th, so start planning your costumes and practice sitting in the back seat to make it across. You may even see myself attempting to part the seas and stay “dry”!
As much as I wanted to be candid and transparent with you all this morning, its not all doom and gloom. Great spring turns be plentiful today, so come and enjoy a beautiful spring day and awesome vibes at Wildcat today!
